Best audio streamer interface?

I stream my FLAC into the PS3 using Foobar2000 uPnP and/or TVersity. I like Foobar because of the way you can easily create a playlist on your PC, and then call it up on the PS3. TVersity for video, Foobar for audio.

No contest - keep the PS3. The media streaming capability make it far more valuable than a stand alone BD player. I transfer (i.e. copy onto the PS3 hard drive) video files wirelessly from my PC over to the PS3 (like full seasons of hi-def TV shows), and watch them thru the PS3. Streaming hi...

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ temps seem high

Your temps are fine. My rule of thumb is to overclock until I hit 75 degrees at 100% load with Prime95, HT on.

I didn't do Linx, but Prime95 full load temps go up into the mid-70 degree range. I think my low voltage is the main reason I can go to 4 GHz, you're probably right that if I had to crank the volts up to 1.3 or higher, my temps would be unacceptable and I would need something better than the...

ASUS P6X58D vs. P6X58D-E

Yeah, the P6X58D - E is the better deal, and hardly anybody uses that extra fan anyways. And yes, the more expensive board will NOT do SATA 6.0 Gb/s RAID. Go figure.

More questions on the Corsair H50

I think your temps using an H50 versus say a Prolimatech megahalem will be hotter by apx 3 to 5 degrees celsius. A lot depends on how good the airflow is in your case, though.

30-40$ I7 920 Cooler

I am running 4.0 GHz i7 920 @ 1.21 vcore, with HT 24/7 using the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ in a well ventilated case (ATCS 840). If you are hell bent on going beyond 4.0, I think you will need a better cooler like the noctua or prolimatech megahalem.

You want big? ATCS 840. It's a monster. I couldn't believe it when I pulled it out of the box. It's almost as big as our fridge. P.S. Check the "Coolermaster" on-line store - they often have really good deals like free shipping and refurbished products...

I think you have set your target too high. With the H50, you'll be lucky to hit 4.0 and 3.8 may be more realistic. It all depends on your core temperatures (which are to a large extent a function of the added voltage you apply to your CPU). During the torture tests, you don't want to exceed...
