heh, i look at my first post and think "wtf were you thinking?". been smoking a pack a day for the last 9 years, and I went cold turkey the day before that post, any of you smokers know what im talking about. good news, I passed the shakes stages, actually feeling pretty damned good today :)...

Recommended DVD ripper

I still haven't picked up a dvd-burner, but my bud just snagged up nd-3520a, and I wanted to recommend a good software for backing up his current line of dvd's. Any takers? I'm more looking for quality extractions than anything else, and ofcoarse, something that possibly gets around...

the reset cmos on mobo is nothing, i thought that guy was talking about resetting 9800 cmos, i didn't know how the fvck to do that. anyhow, just forget this thread even exists, im just pissed off because i quit smoking a couple days back

19" LCD for $299 at NewEgg

Just earlier this morning there was a 19" 8ms DVI LCD on the newegg main page for $299. I forget the name brand, and I would have posted it but I figured there would already have been 20 posts on it already.

Good point. I forget alot old p4 used rambus. If that is the case here, definately just spend the $ on a vid card. You can find a Ti4600 (was the top end before Radeon 9700) for under $100, new or used.

ASUS 6800GT VS MSI 6800GT

you'd be just as good off just buying an eVGA for $60 less, and spending $30 on a nice NVSilencer, ending up with a better overclocking GT than either above. ;) Otherwise if set and determined on those two, like kevin said, either way you'll be satisfied.

That is a somewhat good point, but the timespan we're looking at here is 5 years vs 50 as you pointed out. While certain things on mobo's DO go up in price, such as newer chipsets, most components are becoming a dime a dozen, and hardly warrant all around a doubled price. They are jumping on...
