  1. Does anyone still get the AMD 7xxx bug where your monitor doesn't wake up from sleep?

It's probably just a good hardware combination. In my case I use Dell and Asus monitors and only the Asus has this problem with the same videocard and cabling.
  2. Does anyone still get the AMD 7xxx bug where your monitor doesn't wake up from sleep?

There's a repost video upon wake from sleep in the S1/S3 sleep mode section of most bios. I'd try everything, depending on how much this bothered someone. It bothered me quite a bit, and the solution was either use CCC 12.10, or to stop using DP on the problematic monitor. I chose the latter.
  3. Does anyone still get the AMD 7xxx bug where your monitor doesn't wake up from sleep?

S1/S3 sleep modes and anything else you can find in the bios to adjust.
  4. Does anyone still get the AMD 7xxx bug where your monitor doesn't wake up from sleep?

You're having problems with HDMI->DVI? You might want to try the bios options.
  5. Need a datepicker; build my own or use someone else's?

I've always used someone elses for this. Unless it's a learning exercise, you're asking 'do I reinvent the wheel' here for no appreciable gains.
  6. Does anyone still get the AMD 7xxx bug where your monitor doesn't wake up from sleep?

I wouldn't switch cards for this issue since its been reported on everything. I'd just switch cabling. But not trying another Displayport cable, I did that and made no difference. I'd just buy a HDMI<->DVI cable for any monitor that doesn't play well over DP. From what I found in my research...
  7. Oculus rift min/recommend requirements?

This. Radeon R9-390X No doubt about it. Not fast enough for you? I'm sure it'll overclock like a raped ape too. I've been waiting for the consumer release of OR to build a new rig myself. I've been wondering the same question, and I'm prepared to drop thousands on a new rig. Though it was a...
  8. C# - Java

Yes another vote for Java from me. I'm primarily a Python fan and use it wherever I can. I work with C# now as well, mostly bug fixes, I'm not building new features. Anyone who has built a career on .Net should be diversifying out at this time. The good news is, those guys while they may have...
  9. Asus Rog Swift PG278Q

Locked FPS@hz is the ideal. It's hard to maintain that, that's why GSync/Freesync were invented. Given the choice between guaranteed 60FPS@60hz, and GSync, having the 60@60 would be better than what you have. For two reasons: 1. GSync does not work under 30hz. So if you dip below 30FPS...
  10. Asus Rog Swift PG278Q

The key to Gsync is that you won't get tearing below your refresh rate (60hz - 144hz). If you're at a steady, rock-solid 60FPS @ 60hz, what is the benefit to having Gsync? 120FPS @ 120hz or 60FPS @ 60hz is vsync as intended.
  11. Asus Rog Swift PG278Q

My issue with Gsync is that it requires you to play in full-screen mode. Not being able to use borderless windowed mode broke the deal for me... which is more important to me than variable vsync. A 780TI or 290(X) should rarely if ever go below 60FPS regardless, making variable vsync less...
  12. "Is everything OK, Nvidia?" - Ogre3D dev blog

It's true that there are mistakes, I found a few myself. But that doesn't mean I'm dismissing him outright. There's a lot of insight and truth here as well. His general take-away is correct, in my opinion- It would be a logical fallacy to take someone's argument, which may contain an...
  13. "Is everything OK, Nvidia?" - Ogre3D dev blog

Yes the author got that wrong- This is "patently" incorrect. Nvidia was not the first to implement T&L in hardware. That was the 3DLabs Glint Gamma. Nor first for unified shaders, that was the Xbox360 (AMD Xenos).
  14. "Is everything OK, Nvidia?" - Ogre3D dev blog

While I have not been taking the stance that Nvidia's lawsuit is frivolous (yet, perhaps with more information or more time spent examining the situation my view will change), this Ogre3D developer presents an interesting take on it. As a software developer myself, I find fellow dev opinions...
  15. AMD Needs Your Help - Driver Feedback Requested

A friend of mine just bought an Evga 780TI. He has this too. I recommended he disable hardware acceleration in his Flash options. I've had to do this on my NV, AMD and Intel systems. I place the blame at Flash's feet. That said, I'm on 14.4WHQL right now with my 5870, and have acceleration...
