I did use the fix for MBM for the BIOS beep...checking the 'do not reset sensor' box, I believe, but that didnt help the high temp readings I was getting...After uninstalling MBM my readings are 37-39 idle and 44-46 full load. I am reading the temps in the Easy Tune program and in the BIOS...
I had similar problems when I installed Motherboard Monitor...it doubled the true temp and the cpu overtemp alarm would beep...problem went away when I uninstalled MBM. Since the problem started with a software install I suspect that your problem is similar to the one I had. Hopefully that's all...

On the m/b driver disc the was a program called @bios...I installed that and had the easiest BIOS upgrade ever. I had the new bios saved locally and just told the @bios program where it was...didnt use flash utility at all. It was as easy as any device driver.

That seems like a pretty good overclock for the 3.06...how high can they go with air cooling? Just built 4 systems based on the 8inxp and each can go as high as the processor allows. The two with 2.4 c1s can do 170 fsb the two with 2.66s can do 166...just wondering if you're cpu...
I did not like the looseness of the power module even with the retainig bracket on. That is just asking for trouble. I attached a self-sticking rubber foot to the front of the modules fan that pushes against the cpu heatsink...now it is nice and secure. Of course the rubber foot I chose is sized...

I think that the chipset fans are not very loud...compared to some I've heard..I like a nice quiet system and am not considering any changes to the chipset fan (unless it starts squealing).
Just received the rest of the parts for my system and I seem to have a bad processor...no post, no beeps, all power supply voltages ok...and since I had a couple extra 8inxp's I tried another m/b and same problem..tried another power supply for the heck of it and no go(1 antec 430 and 1 antec...
I received two of the 8inxp's yesterday..I had ordered two when Newegg had them as well as the two I ordered from Mwave(I have confirmation that the Mwave ones have actually shipped). These are really nice, well made boards. Even comes with a couple extra books...a 60 page book on IDE RAID...
The only other thing I would verify before ordering from ncix is that the product is in a retail box....that price seems too good to be true...if its white box/oem it may have been neutered.
I joined the forums after lurking for years just to tell you guys that the Gigabyte 8inxp is in stock at Mwave.com...ordered two myself. Talked to a salesman to order just to verify that they are in stock(I hate companies that don't update their websites to reflect reality).
