I cleared my browser data from iPad Safari. Now I get this huge stupid banner across the top. How do I get rid of this?

Question Are these 4TB SSDs fine and reliable enough for a Raid 10 array in a NAS

I have a mixture of the Sandisk and WD Blue SSDs in my NAS. So far no issues. I’d like to eventually replace them with Samsung 870QVO 8tb drives when the prices get low enough.

Question TV size selection

I sit about 8' away from my TV, which is about 2.5m. I have an 83" LG OLED. It's not too big. In fact, I wish it were a bit larger, maybe 100" diagonal. 65" is way too small at 4m viewing distance. You won't be able to tell the difference between 1080 and 2160 resolution.

Question Windows 11 - My Desktop PC no longer shuts down, just goes right back to user login screen

If it's a change for the better, then it's not annoying. I avoided Win8 (well, 8.1) for a long time due to the negative press. But once I used it, and installed Start8, I really liked it. I preferred it over Win7.

Question Booting Modern Computers from USB

I've done clean installs of Win11 on my two Dells: 3090 Ultra and 7090 Ultra. I had no issues other than having to switch the Disk format from RAID to AHCI. Otherwise, I don't recall doing anything different from my other computers. I just set the boot order to boot first from USB in the UEFI...

Question Anyone can give advice about 12th Gen or 13 air cooling

Keep in mind that the 13700k is a much higher wattage cpu than the 12700k, unless you limit the power usage in the BIOS. The only reason I'm using the D12L is that it is one of the few decent-sized air coolers that will fit my motherboard. Noctua and others make better HSF than that.

Remove the cpu cooler. You will likely save more time and suffer fewer headaches than trying to jury-rig some way of releasing the pcie lock with the cooler in place.

Having programs in the background don't take up much CPU power. Playing music can be done on a potato, so something like can be disregarded. Unless you are calculating massive Excel files in the background, most of your apps are just going to sit in memory, and not tax the CPU. You really should...
