It's my gut feeling too. I wonder when the real difference occurs or becomes noticeable... Maybe with a 2.0 Ghz? ALthough I think it has more to do with the feeling of knowing one has almost the fastest available. Besides, I assume that upgrading the cpu in a future upgrade is probably not THAT...
Hi everyone!
I am currently shopping for a new laptop and I am wondering about the following:
I have very limited $$$, so, is it really worth spending $100 more for a Centrino 750 instead of a centrino 740 (Dell XPS 140). Maybe I'd rather use the $100 and buy a 9 cell battery instead...
Is a SATA PCI card with a SATA HD to replace one of the IDE HD a worthy option?
Costco has a SATA 160 MB Maxtor HD with the SATA adapter for $129.
I may need to free up one of the IDE slots for a DVD burner that I am getting to replace my SCSI CD-RW.
Hi everybody.
Another thing I was wondering:
Does the number of devices on the IDE port have an effect on the overall speed of the computer.
For instance, if you have 3 HD on IDE 1, and a DVD, a burner and a zip on IDE 2, does that make for a slower computer than having just 1 HD and 1 Drive...
Hi everybody...
I have a question for all the CPU experts out there.
I currently run an MSI KT3 Ultra 2 Mobo with an Athlon XP 1800+ and 512 DDR 2100 RAM (mushkin).
I plan on upgrading the BIOS, install a Barton 2600+ with 512 DDR 2700 RAM (mushkin also).
Do you think it is worth it? How...
I have been trying to set-up Windows XP remote access feature from my home machine to my machine at a different location, but am always unable to connect to the machine because of a timeout error.
So, I tried to ping the remote machine (it has a fixed IP address), and could not even go through...
Thank you all for your help.
After pondering all of them, I ended up getting the 7500 built by ATI and various cable accessories to use the dual monitor function. At the end of the day, a budget is a budget. :(
Anyway, the card is AWESOME! See, until now I had been using a Voodoo 3 2000...
Hmmm...
I will probably go with the 7500 after all, because really, I don't play games.
However, I just noticed that the Radeon 9000 Pro is almost the same price as the 8500 LE.
Any thought on that? Or is it really the same card with a new name?
