    HOT? - Best Buy Canada

The cheapest Buy It Now on ebay.ca that I can see is CND$31.87+9.80 shipping or CND$23.29 + $25.45 shipping for the cheapest sale price. Switching ebay.com I see $18.88 +$6.87 = $25.75USD or ~ $30CND apiece for the cheapest deal. OP beats it. Note this is for Canada... we get the big shaft...

need help to find the built-in Perl module

That was my question, I was looking for more background in the specific problem. didn't mean to make it sound like it's an easy task, it that's how it came across. to say "make it easy to read cvs files" is pretty open ended. My code snippet makes it easy to read cvs files. There must have...

need help to find the built-in Perl module

really? perl makes it easy to read csv files.... open($handle, "<file.csv") while(<$handle>) { my @parts = split /,/; ... } how is the problem tedious/hard? Is the cvs file format/order changing and you need a way to get consistent results?

I don't know how to program

Don't know anything about iphone apps but what might be happening is somehwere else in the program the selection list is being used either by comparing values or looking at the selected index. You might want to search the program for the selection list name or the values and see where else they...

UNIX schell scripting, find string, replace at the start...

no... i did mean ^(^#) in the expression (but I'm wrong, see below). If you do this: sed '/^.*loadRuleLatest/s/^/#/g' A.txt add # and you fed it this: /server/box1/algo/loadRuleLatest pathA/ruleAAB #/server/box1/algo/loadRuleLatest pathA/ruleAAB the ouput would be...

UNIX schell scripting, find string, replace at the start...

well, if that syntax works then you should be able to do (or very similar to): sed '/^(^#).*loadRuleLatest/s/^/#/g'

    Perl question

revision control software an option? This is exactly what it's good for. The users would just need to check out the group file, edit and test as needed then check to the source when done. If revision control software is not possible, could you spec a file in a known location to be a test...

best developing tools for java swing?

Netbeans 6.5 lets you pick a layout manager from a list. I don't recall all the managers that are included (don't have Netbeans installed on this machine) but there are a few. I never had any problems getting my layouts to behave how I wanted using Netbeans to build the GUI.

Java - How to see if a string contains anything that you DON'T want

seriously guys, context. The OP was asking about user inputs. Lets assume the fastest someone is going to input from the keyboard is 120 words per minute, that's 500ms per word with an average length of 4.5 letters per word (got that from some random goggle search). So, 111ms per letter... on...

Java - How to see if a string contains anything that you DON'T want

oh crap... I'm reading over the OP again and I just made the assumption that the inputs are coming in from a text field of some sort. I suppose this could be command line based eh? I'm just so used to defaulting to perl when I don't need a GUI... Still though, comparing one character at a...

Java - How to see if a string contains anything that you DON'T want

this is much easier to write: if(input.matches("[01]*") There's a reason why regular expressions are around.

Java - How to see if a string contains anything that you DON'T want

Crusty is correct but there's an elegant way to do it in input fields in Java. You can replace the default model used to input the text so it will only accept key presses based on certain criteria. If you look here and read the part that talks about customized fields, the last section in the...
