7400 Go performance?

7400 Go performance?

I have an sz120p COD2 will run very well, much better than 25fps. just takes a little more tweaking of the settings. With the latest drivers, and a little OC'ing, I get 2045 in 3dmark05. I'm very impressed with this little mahcine.

Trying to pick a damn laptop

I been reading that 64bit vista won't be out til '07 sometime. 32bit versions will be on the shelves first.

What is the difference between Sony Vaio SZ110 and SZ120?

the 120 has xp pro. thats the ONLY difference. I just looked at those links. The 120 description is wrong. The 120 does have xp pro.

Travelling with your notebook

So, if you go out to dinner or something, what do you do with the laptop when you take it with you? Does it go in the restaurant with you also? If you leave it in a car, you are taking a bigger risk than leaving it in a hotel room. I just don't think the hotel is as big a risk as some of you are...

Howz your Karma? I leave mine in the room often, but usually only if I'm running out to dinner or errands. Otherwise, I usually have it with me for work stuff. I HAVE left mine in the room more than 8 hrs before, and even on and logged in, but I don't make a habit of that. If I need to leave...

Current laptop owners, I have some questions.

going to read... OK, did some reading. Only negative things I read were that they aren't well built, get HOT, noisy fans, slow performance, and Sony sucks. I dropped it and it broke, or my mom sat on it and it broke, hardly justifies calling it a poorly built laptop. I'm sure some of them...

Current laptop owners, I have some questions.

I can't help with a suggestion unless you can up your budget a little. I'm currently running a Sony and love it. It is really a good compromise in size. I have used from 15" to 10" laptops, and I really like this size the best.

Can a virus make a computer slow down?

A p4 system should not have any problems with the windows animations in 98. I have always heard that enabling SMART disks slows things down a little, but I wouldn't expect it to be that bad. Also on that note, the fact that you are getting a warning about the disk on boot-up, indicates an...

How bad is partitioning?

Well, If you are benchmarking, you should only have the bare essentials running to get the best scores. Not sure why your score was so low. No, partitioning won't hurt performance. Is your bios using the fastest mode your HD can handle? PIO mode 4? Just a thought.

If you set-up a static pagefile size, doesn't it map out a given physical space on the drive? Pagefile should not get fregmented nor cause fragmentation if you set it up to a static size. I was once told to: Format Install OS Disable virtual memory -> reboot Defragment Enable virtual memory...

Notebook Owners - is it worth it?

Maybe the question should be this, why do you want to work outside of home? If you just want the flexibility to work anywhere, I would advise against it. It is nice to sit out at the pool and be able to do some work, but laptop displays aren't worth a crap in daylight, and the cool factor about...
