The reviews on that Asus seem bad...
The linked gigabyte looks good but I think I would spend the extra and get the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...GIGABYTE%2bGA-P35-DS3R
It is the same price range as my P5N. My only concern is the cooling system with its backplate...
I can try the same chipset, I just dont want another P5n-e...the problems I have been reading about it all scare me off from that particular board.
The unlinked memory doesnt excite me that much since I dont overclock it and will be running with stock timings etc. (also I have read reports of...
I just built a system and I am just having a terrible time with this motherboard.
It hard-locks when I run two sticks of ram (even with the timings set manually), even with one stick it doesnt feel like its running well...the 4th ram slot legitimately does not even work...I am having wierd...
I think I am going to go with this card: http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16814102061
It looks like the best card for the combo of price/reviews/cooler (I like the idea of the Asus card's cooler but it sounds like it is so poorly connected that I would have to take it off and redo...
I will be playing at 1280x1024 as it is my panel's native resolution (I also have a secondary monitor but as it never goes into 3d mode, it could be run on a 10 year old 16meg card)
Benchmarks point to the memory being fine without hitting 512.
I threw it into my list https://secure.newegg.com/NewV...itle=2007+system+ideas
and I like where the price/preformance of that card seem to lie (either way it kicks the shit out of my x800gto which is way underclocked to prevent its artifact problems...)
The noise'll bother me when watching...
Actually, I took a look at some of the ATI cards and it seem slike the x1950XT would be a good choice (coupled with a quiet cooler, sounds like some of those things are LOUD)
Sound like a good idea?
I am trying to pick a video card for my new build but I am not quite satisfied with my options.
The card will be going into an Asus P5N with an e6550 and I am looking to spend at or less than $200.
There seems to be nothing at the $200 price point and while I would love to buy cheaper and...
I have never used it but my modem is supposed to be supported by ltmodem
ltmodem itself is no longer developed but somebody has made 2.6 packages of it and I even found ubuntu packages already made so I think I might sign up with all2easy and try it.
only problem is that all2easy's signup...
I am going on vacation in a little over a week and will be gone for 2 weeks or so. Usually I like to leave the tech behind but I will have a need for access to internet (primarily email) since I will not have a lot of time home before I return to school. The area I am in is heavily wooded and...
