i think you have confused westmere with wolfdale ;)
btw also considering the ES, the beta bios, some lack of optimizations etc. etc. etc.... the IPC seems to be lower than a phenom... :whiste: at least for the single core, for the whole CPU don't know
sorry jfamd but i don't understand one thing:
the turbo is fixed to the max frequency or is variable at intermediate multiplier settings?
for example:
defaulf frequency: 3ghz
all core boost: 3.5ghz
the all core boost can auto-adjust also at 3.1-3.2-.3.3-3.4ghz for match the tdp or is fixed...
maybe a typo...
i'm agree, 1155 is a mainstream platform that will compete with Llano, bulldozer should compete with the enthusiast socket of intel, maybe 2011 or 1356...
btw all depend on the price/performance ratio and availability
yeah that's a AMD slide, i think they show pro-AMD benchmarks... that's marketing ;)
just my estimate, 300-330 mm2...
well... why compare a 95W CPU with two 125-130W cpus? btw... if that performances come from a 95W bulldozer you shoud change the name in "GODZiller" ^_^
i7-950 130W TDP
1100T 125W TDP
the comparison is with that 2 processors
i know SB is at 95W and the HD2000 waste ~15W at full load... SB 4x is also much smaller than the ~310 mm2 Bulldozer
2. 8 "half" cores vs. 8 threads. remember what JF said: if two cores give 100% one module give 80% of throughput
4. speed doesn't matter... i think the comparison is at same TDP
