there is a vdimm mod for the motherboard, it's meant for the M2N-SLI, but that is the same board as the M2N-E except they put a full size PCIe slot on it (chipset is the same for both boards, as well as everything else).
Click here for vdimm mod and let us know how it goes.
Reading that thread you linked to I noticed something everyone had in common - they were all using WD drives. Is there anyone that's using another brand of HDD and running into the same problems?
Im with stupid - All you have to do is flash it with the latest BIOS, patches from the earlier revisions are included. I believe corsair value select runs at 1.8V, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem with voltage.
Also, curious question for you, but what video editing software...
I did try with HT multiplier at 3x and with ram set to 533 and it would not boot even at 260 - so I tried with the HT multiplier at 4x and ram at 533, and again it would not boot at 260. For some reason, it seems that I can olny go higher than 2578-258 if ram is set to 667.
No matter what...
I started tinkering again and managed to get a higher OC out of my combo. I noticed in CPUZ that SPD reported 667-5-5-5-15 (even though the RAM I was sold was supposed to be 667-4-4-4-12). I'm pretty sure I tried this setting before, but perhaps I got better luck with the new BIOS and these...
It seems to me that the secret to good overclocks out of this board is Corsair XMS. Anyone with anything other than XMS get a good overclock from this board?
I don't remember there being a PCI bus settings, and with that number, I'm sure he was talking about the PCI-E bus. I doubt anything would even continue to work with a a PCI bus set to 100Mhz.
Just though I'd update on my situation. After a BIOS update to the 0402 version, my soft boot problems are gone as well. I do however seem to be hitting a wall at about 257-258 on the FSB (nothing new, but I didn't mention it earlier). So, to everyone out there with the soft boot problem, I...
Hey, thought I would chime in with my experiences as well.
I'm currently running my 3000+ at 2.25Ghz
250 FSB
4x HTT
ram at 533-4-4-4-12-2t@1.95V
PEG link disabled
PCIE clock set to 100Mhz
No stability issues, no problems at all except for the soft reboot problem at this speed. I...
