Why can't they ask me before designing mobos?

The CPU is not starved for air. Nor does it compete with the other fans. :confused: Having two fans moving a few CFM away from the CPU doesn't decrease the air pressure by any measurable amount. Cooler air is simply drawn from below. Hot air goes up - so it makes sense to have the hottest...

my chipset temperature is scarying!! :S

Since you live in a very hot climate, there are a number of aftermarket heatsinks for that motherboard. You might check at dfi-street.com. However, I wouldn't worry too much about the temperatures unless you actually start experiencing instability. If nothing else, cleaning the compound off...

Good card for ~$200 (X1900 vs 7900 series)

X1900 XT 256: $240. I wouldn't go for the GT unless it were below $200

Tuniq Tower 120 impossible to find!

Hey, kind of off-topic, I was thinking of going with a Scythe Infinity. Problem is, does anyone know if this will work in an upside-down motherboard, for instance in a V1000.. ? I wonder if the Tuniq would be better in this regard.

lian li v1200b plus II vs. Antec p180B

Sort of off-topic, does anyone know the difference between the V1100, V1100A Plus, V1100B Plus II, and whatever other variants of the V1100 there are? :P One of the user reviews says the USB/Audio wires weren't long enough for some, which may be something they improved on in the later designs?

Falcon Fragbox is a pretty cool SFF gaming machine. Otherwise, the Talon line is now C2D, and a nicely spec'd one looks about 2700. I assume your price doesn't include monitor? It is a little steep, actually, I guess you're paying for the support. If you can do your own support, probably...

In search of new monitors to go with my new X800XL.

Honestly, any decent 19" monitors should be fine. My only advice would be to avoid models with speakers, since they take up space, unless you'd have a use for the speakers. Also let me say that you would probably be happier, long-term, with one $400 monitor than with 2 $200 ones. That way you...

You probably don't need to flash any of the newer ones. With a 148, you probably don't need to even think about going over HTT 274, so it shouldn't be a problem. I found 1.6 to to be quite good.
