Got a cheap power source:
+12v 10A max
+5 v 30A max
+3.3v 14A max
-5v 0.5A max
-12v 0.5A max
+5v/SB 1.5A max
That's all the information I can get from the power source.
Planning to use it to run a 1G duron, might overclock it a little bit.
Thanks for your suggestion
pab
Ordered a 1G duron from tcwo, they forced me to buy one of their heat sink to make the 1 year cpu warranty valid.
Here is the link, it is not amd recommended
Can I use this heat sink , what if I overclock ? I was thinking a volcano 6 for overclock purpose
Thanks
pab

<< so refurb==barebone?
no cables, driver and manual?
That will be hard. >>
I sure drivers and manuals can be downloaded somewhere off the web. As for cables, what kind of a hardcore anandtecher wouldn't have spare cables laying around??
lol:P >>
I don't have ata100 cables. that...
<< could not "special order." the guy at circuit city didn't seem to know too much. but he checked the computer and since the memory didn't show up on the computer, he said he couldnt special order it. i wouldnt be suprised if he was wrong. he said keep trying online. looks like i have to...
<< What?!? Do they only sell 2 sticks a day? Geeeeez.... >>
The maximum is 5 per household per day. I guess there will be no limit if you go for special order in B&M.
I called centon tech support and they told me it is pc2100
The price is 39.99 plus tax. shipping is around 4 to 5 bucks ups ground.
They will be back in stock again soon I guess.
<< Damn finally got in on one of the refurb deals... Got three 8500s and 1 8500DV (yes they are actually gonna be used). Finally can get rid of those aging GF1/2MX/Matrox G400 cards. :D >>
I guess they usually put refurb stuffs online at around 3:00pm ET
