Headset or 5.1 speakers for gaming?

Hiya I'm looking for opinions here Currently I use a set of Logitech Z-5500 speakers running on my X-Fi Xtreme music soundcard using the analogue inputs on the Z-5500's for all my audio on my PC. I use the optical in on the speakers for my DVD player which I watch all my movies on...

Linux for noobs

well as a starting linux disto I'd reccomend Fedora Core I started out using Red Hat Linux and have been using it ever since (now its Fedora Core) You could also try a LiveCD like knoppix or meepis

yeah it happens through optical (my standalone dvd player), analogue (my pc) and coax (was using for my pc briefly) so i don't think its my sound card.

Logitech Z-5500 Popping

Ok got these speakers a few months ago and I've noticed sometimes they make what can only be described as a popping sound sometimes. It happens when they are turned on and it happens when they are idle or in-use watching movies or whatever. Anything i can do about this? its not a big issue...

NForce4 + SoundBlaster X-Fi = Problems?

Ok what happend with mine was I put the card in, boot the pc, it goes ape ****** and assigns all the hardware the same IRQ. Updated the BIOS problem solved. I have an Abit AN8 Ultra BTW
