27 inch display problems

You should have gotten both a VGA cable and a dual link DVI cable with your Auria. I used the included DVI cable to run the display at the native resolution right out of the box with a 7950 and 7970, I'm inclined to say that the miniDP adapter you are using isn't sending the signal correctly.

While I don't know if it will be of concern to you, running more than 1 screen will result in an increase in idle GPU temperatures (as KingFatty said). This is a result of the card downclocking only the core clocks and keeping the memory clocks at 100%, even when in 2D/desktop mode. On my 7970...

Do you mean one window stretched across 2 monitors? If so, then yes I can do that with my VNC viewer although its only running in 800x600 at the moment. Note that I am using a USB -> VGA adapter as well. As far as I can tell VNC viewer (on my machine) works no differently than the triple...

On my premium the memclock of 400 (should be default) means 1:1, you can verify the speeds using CPU-Z. Don't go over 1000 for the HTT so set the htt multiplier according to your CPU frequency to keep it under 1000.

XP90copper vs SI 120...which is better for dual core Opteron

Using a Scythe Ninja w/ orange yate loon my peak temps are ~38C as reported by the asus probe utility (this is while running dual Prime95 on an Opteron 170 @2.2).

Just ordered some parts

I would be careful about the Asus a8n boards and the PSU. Although they claimed to have fiexed the compatibility problems with newer revisions (of both the board and NeoHE), there may still be an issue present. Do a little bit of searching on google about it and you can decide for yourself...
