Gigabyte EP45-UD3R F9 BIOS doesn't like SpinRite 6?

Well, I'm the OP, and I recently updated to the F11 BIOS, and still no luck. Spinrite 6 still gives me the same error. It detects the drives fine (although it has an issue with a 500 MB drive I made two partitions out of, so I told it not to check that one), but then it gives me this message...

I figured I'd do a little preventive maintenance on one of my hard drives, so I fired up SpinRite 6 from the CD, and what do you know, even though it detects the drive I tried to check just fine, when it comes to the actual checking, it tells me it cannot do it safely and won't proceed...

Hey, all, earlier this year I got the "newer rig" from my sig, which has an A8N-E motherboard from ASUS, and it came with two 512 MB sticks of Corsair XMS DDR CMX-3200C2 (2-3-3-6). My machine as shipped was detecting the RAM as dual-channel--it had one stick in the first slot of each of the two...

Just to fill you in: I ended up replacing the PSU (an Antec Smart Power [1] 400W) with an Antec True Power II 480W and it solved the problem. Indeed, the power supply was going. It's only a shame that I can't use those extra PCI-E power connectors or the extra +12V output, or the SATA ones...

Asus a8n-e..

Not that I'm planning to OC, but I'm glad to hear this. So far this has been my experience as well. My newer rig (with this mobo) currently has 1 GB of the CMX-3200C2 (as two 512 MB modules) and I'm planning to add a second GB as a 1 GB DIMM of the same stuff (2.5-3-3-6 on an AMD based board)...

A7N8X Deluxe question in the BIG thread

I have no idea what I may have introduced-- I mean, at most I may have upgraded video card drivers in that timeframe. It's true that I'm not running the latest BIOS-- I'm running 1004 and the latest non-beta for this board is 1008-- but this BIOS has been working fine since I upgraded to it...

Thanks, I just wish I had an adequate extra one lying around. ;-) Unfortunately the only one I have is a 300 W Enlight one that came originally with my case. I wonder if that would be enough to just test the mobo+vidcard+2 HD's if I disconnected the optical drives.

Asus a8n-e..

Perhaps a very silly question, but how the heck do I get my system to show me what my current BIOS version is?? During POST, all I see is the darn ASUS splash screen. I can't even see the info in Setup, which is weird.
