Dell 2420 with HD3000 graphics - screen becomes scrambled intermittently (pic within)

I haven't tried to plug into an external monitor whiles the problem is happening, because the problem only happens randomly for about 30 seconds max. I hookup the laptop to my Plasma TV through HDMI. Not once has this scrambling problem happened whiles the laptop is connected to the TV.

Dell Vostro 2420 (i3-2348 with 4gb ram) and Windows 8.1 runs slow - more RAM, SSD?

All programs seem slow. When I have multiple tabs open in chrome everything becomes laggy. Start up and shut down seem slow too. Also every so often the screen display "scrambles" intermittently... Sort of like scrambled PPV channels in the 90s. This even happens when the machine is cold.

Dell Vostro 2420 (i3-2348 with 4gb ram) and Windows 8.1 runs slow - more RAM, SSD?

I have a Dell Vostro 2420 Laptop that I purchased may 2013 with an i3-2348M @ 2.3ghz, 4gb RAM, 64-bit win 8.1. The machine runs very slow. I suspect an SSD and maybe 8GB or even 16GB of ram might be the fix to get it running a lot faster? Or is the CPU/mobo the main limiting factor here...

HD 7770 with new catalyst doesn't support my HDTV

good ad blocking software?

Is there any good ad blocking software that prevents ad's from being displayed on various web pages, without blocking relevant content? Also can it go as far as blocking ad-related pop up's, and ad's that are in other software programs beside the web browser?

Hyper 212 EVO + LGA1155 - issue trying to mount (see pics inside)

Thanks all, then it appears I have mounted mine correctly. However I don't think my fan is placed on the proper side. Right now the fan is facing the rear of the case, however a friend of mine is telling me it should be on the other side of the cooler facing the front of the case?

Hyper 212 EVO + LGA1155 - issue trying to mount (see pics inside)

I am trying to mount my Hyper 212 EVO on my i7-4770k (LGA 1155), and it doesn't seem to sit right. I think I mounted it properly, but the cooler seems to move a little bit despite being bolted tightly. I suspect I may have used a little too much thermal paste which may be causing it to slide...

Budget gaming cards - 7770 or 5850 or ?? ($50-$70 used)

Thanks for the input so far guys. Given that I am using an Antec VP450 (450w bronze psu) to power my system (i7-4770k, 1 SSD, 1 3.5" 7200rpm, etc.), the 7770 might be my best option due to low power consumption? Any other Nvidia cards to consider under a $100? The mining craze really has...

I am looking to buy a used $50-$70 GPU to use for some gaming. Would you guys go with a 5850, 6850 or 7770? Or is there something better for the same price from Nvidia? Also anything to watch out for when buying a used card? Thanks
