That's more than strange. It's looks like that your vga and the board is conflicting somehow. The ereased BIOS indicates some kind of motherboard problem, and the Portal thing can be a driver issue. Do you have the latest 163.75 driver for the VGA?

I'm currently using the latest ( 1102, maybe it's in the beta section?) BIOS from ASUS. I've done the flashing with the ASUS Update utility. WinFlash doesn't work for me any longer :/
But it's a piece of cake nowadays.. so grab the latest BIOS from ASUS' site and the fancy Updater...
