I am attempting to install some application on my windows tablet PC's SDcard. I have formatted the drive to use NTFS, but when I attempt to install to the d:\ drive, I am told that I cannot install on a non-local drive.
I went into storage settings and change the setting to save app to the D...
I am working on a PC for a relative. It's a GB-BXA8-5557. She was complaining that it was overheating and making rattling noises. I took the cover off and notice that one of the fan had broken blades and was no longer spins, so the other fan is spinning faster to compensate making the rattling...
Last night, I attempted to access this site and got a site not found. When I tried google, it comes up, so I am able to access some sites but not others. I then tried disconnecting and reconnecting. This is when II notice that the wifi was stuck to the profile of public and there was no way to...
I don't know if this was caused by the recently update (windows 10 build 1903) or not, but I notice that the printer Cannon MX860 do not show up in the Printer & Scanner Settings or the device manager settings panel. What's weird is that it prints fine and if I use device manager, I can see the...
That's what I thought, so if you turn on the printer each time to print and you print often, then turning it on an off will actually waste more ink since each power up means self-cleaning is activated.
If it's not use for a long time, then turn it off?

My mom's Cannon MX860 appears to waste ink even if she doesn't print anything. For example, she prints may be a few pages per month, but the cartridge appears to empty faster than expected. There may be two things at work here:
1. Ink evaporates from the cartridge even if you don't use it.
2...
Ha, there are a lot of luddites out there. Most of the work places I worked at are very slow to change. It'll be a long time before we see post-XP system.
Thanks for the info folks, I was wondering, do I need to start and end partition on a 4K boundary or just start?
Paul
I recently purchased a SSD for my wife to use in her laptop, but is puzzled about SSD alignment. A lot of article tell you how to align it, but not why. From what I can determine, it's probably the following reason:
1. SSD page is typically 4K (is this always true? How can I tell what page...
My wife would like to be able to get to previous versions of her work. This would be similar to the Mac's time machine, but on a Windows XP laptop w/o access to wifi or external hard disk. The system must be self-contained since wifi is not always available and she can't be lugging around an...
Hi,
My mother has an older computer that has ATA-66. This mean the maximum supported disk size is around 137 GB.
It's getting kind of hard to find a drive these days that small unless you go online. If I buy a 160 GB drive, will it work even if it only shows 137 GB. Is this harmful to the...
Oops, I meant Cannon Pixma. In any case, after some research, I notice a deal on one of the HP All-In-One inkjet and purchased it. Frankly, my mom will probably never notice the advance features. Even the price per page doesn't matter so much because she doesn't print a lot (the problem with the...
Apparently she does want color. A color laser would be nice, but they cost $500+.
I am edging toward the HP Pixma series. They're not as reliable as they used to be, but they appeared to be more reliable than average judging from surveys.
Hi,
My mother need to replace a Brothers MFC-3360C that stop working suddenly and complain that the cartridge was empty even when I inserted a new cartridge. This printer has been a real pain in the neck.
1. The printer kept running out of ink even when the printer is rarely used...
In the Feb 2009 of PC World, I read the following article:
http://www.pcworld.com/busines...ht_for_windows_xp.html
I am not going to go into whether this is fair or not, but it is my understanding that OEM license is tied to the motherboard. Microsoft has indicate in the past that when you...
