Weird Gigabyte 7DXR reboot problem

Do you have a netgear network card in there? Try a different card and see if that helps.

What are some advantages to the gigabyte 7dx(r) over the Epox 8k7a(+)?

First when you use 3 or more sticks of DDR, it has to be *registered* (kinda like buffered, but not quite). Crucial sells 3 kinds of DDR: Plain, Registered, and Registered +ECC. The registred costs $5 per stick and runs *slightly* slowly than the plain. The Registered +ECC costs $10 more per...

New BIOS for Epox 8K7A

I removed the FA311 and replaced it with a Linksys LNE100TX card that I had lying around. This fixed the problem and everything works normally/perfectly now WRT rebooting.

Epox 8K7A problem with Restart

OK. I took out the Netgear FA311 card, and put in a Linksys LNE100TX. The problem is fixed!

EPOX EP-8K7A Motherboard: Include builtin sound?

As far as I know there is no 8K7A board without the AC97 sound built in. You can however disable the sound in the BIOS. If you want a board with really good sound check out the Gigabyte 7DXR I think it has the Creative chip.

Epox 8K7A problem with Restart

I am having a problem with my 8K7A board. It is Epox 8K7A Athlon 1.0/266 256MB Crucial DDR Win2K Professional SP2 When I shut down the computer, it powers off correctly. But when I press the power button to turn on, the board goes straight on to FF (no post-ing) and it does not boot, nothing...
