Radeon *SE* is FINALLY here!

As you can tell from the number of posts, fame garnered from word of mouth can be a two edge sword. The arguments put forth here basically state that anything slower than a GF3 (or is that GF2) is not a viable gaming platform (i.e. Voodoo3, Voodoo 4, MX, MX200, MX400). If the game developers...

I still cant decide Geforce 2 Ultra or Ati Radeon 64mb ddr

More info here...a lot of people have been in your position and tried a Radeon card and found themselves won over by the quality of the 2D and 3D image quality(colour, saturation, and working DXTC) while finding the framerate more than acceptable for the bulk of today's games.

ATI stinks - ok ATI doesnt stink, just a little smelly, but my CD ROM drive did stink (Hi Val) haha

Help...This video card is Killing me.....ahhhh

Looks like you should disable "fast writes" and use AGP 2X via setting the BIOS. This seems to be a known problem. Last contact users who have the same motherboard as you in the previous post.

radeon le sdr pci very slow dont bother

Never seen or heard of a Radeon PCI card unless it was a special built upgrade item available for Macs from Apple. The Radeon chip itself does not support PCI so an external PCI-AGP chip must be used...which is why I'm wondering about the origin of your card.

Geforce 2 Ultra or ATI Radeon 64 VIVO

If this helps, the Radeon is currently edging the Ultra in 3DMark 2001 scores due to the newer features like bump mapping and vertex skinning. Beyond just pure framerate there are other things that some of the more balanced and recent reviews point out.

Radeon VE dual monitor setup??

Within the DISPLAY PROPERTIES, you can make the monitor connect to the DVI port the primary display. Try to get this working first and report back.

Radeon All-in-Wonder 32MB SDR versus 32MB DDR -- what's the difference?

The SDR is very close to the DDR in performance and may meet your needs. The Hyper-Z(cache) narrows the gap significant. More info here

Hey somebody didn't copy me on this bashing party :) Here is a thread from people who have successfully owned both Radeon and Nvidia cards and their comments with more objectivity and balance showing. There are also a collection of about 30 Radeon reviews for you to make up your own mind...
