Well I wouldn't judge them harshly if their controller had been designed for a different application and had just been thrown into SSDs by eager manufacturers. But if they designed it for use in general-purpose SSDs then bah, I say. I think waiting up to 2000ms for some writes, instead of the...
Well, here's something of a price decrease, although the drives are brand new and nobody has reviewed them yet: Kingston's V-series. Just saw them on Newegg and they appear to be in stock. The 64GB is at $148.99 ($60 cheaper than the 60GB OCZ Vertex, and the same price as a 30GB Vertex...
I got the same email, saying "the inventory for the Value Pak has now been depleted. As a result, we will be canceling the Value Pak from your order. " but the next day I got:
Qty Product Description
1 Unreal Tournament 2004: DVD Special Edition-Windows

Arrrrr! My Hitachi that I ordered way back on page 4 (what a long lived thread) has recently developed the nasty habit throwing a shadow about a quarter inch to the right of things. Not all the time, but enough to bring me out of hiding and in search of a replacement. =(
Damn, it didn't come with anything. And I have no idea how I'll connect my gamepad, other than buying a ghetto sound card and disabling all but its gameport. Asus put their gameport header way out on the right side of the board, so an old VIA riser card doesn't have a cable long enough to reach...
A little note about that Cendyne 48x burner - some are made by OptoWrite and the rest are Lite-Ons. There's a sticker on the back of the box with all the specs, including manufacturer - http://www.cdrlabs.com/reviews/index.php?reviewid=149&page=Conclusion
Maybe this is common knowledge, maybe...
Woooot, I ordered their last Deluxe in the early hours of the 25th (waking up about four hours later for work was fun) and grabbed a 512MB stick of Corsair PC3200 from GoogleGear. I hope it comes with a case plate or else I'll just have to remove mine and have a gaping hole in the back =/ .
My...
Komusa's table at http://www.komusa.com/51ddrpc40sa.html shows what's up. The $67 512MB stick is Standard Grade and shows its clockspeed is *up to* PC3200. While Platinum (+$15) and Diamond (+$25) grade are supposedly true PC3200.
Also keep in mind that low quality power supplies are usually pretty ineffiecient so a good power supply will pay for itself over time (assuming you're the one paying the power bill :P )
Oooh, mine came today and I love it. The only flaw is a group of scratches on the top where the case tapers down to the ventilation holes - so that doesn't matter at all. Great colors and a very sharp image.
Thank you, Homer, for this excellent deal :D
I got a TBred 1700+ from Newegg a couple weeks ago and, to my surprise, the L1 bridges were uncut so the simple old pencil trick works flawlessly.
Too bad a bridge (L5? L7? I Don't remember) has to be cut in order to access the higher multipliers. Scribbling on my processor is one thing but...
Wooo! After some deliberation, I just placed an order. My current monitor and previous one were both refurbs from TeamExcess so refurbished monitors have treated me well :D
