MrS, Thanks for clarifications. I do not remember where I saw the difference between dual 16x and dual 8x but as far as I can remember the difference was significant. As far as I know the new Core architecture brings upon a new instruction set of SSE4. Finally, I am quite optimistic about AMD...

Dear Intelligent user, Increasing HTT bus to 333MHz bus MATTERs when paired with appropriate memory. My budget sempron 2800 (1.6Ghz) is working @ 2.4(8x300) paired with a single 512MB module @ DDR600 (3,3,3,8,1T) which yields a mem bandwith of 4.6GB/s that is comparable with dual channel setups...

If Conroe at 2.66 is an average of 20-35% faster than an FX-60 at 2.8

My wisdom is not that great as yours. But I think making comparisions between future products and a 2-3 years old product can be misleading. If you could compare a A64 with 8x333=2666 with DDR667 memory you could have called this a more legitimate comparision. I think that theorical system...
