Did my computer just kill my brand new UPS?

I tried to boot up my computer during some hardcore troubleshooting and I think it may have shorted out, killing my 1500VA UPS. Now everytime I try to turn on the UPS, it says it's overloaded, even when nothing is connected. It is an APC RS1500 Battery Backup.

Still nothing. I thinked the computer just killed my brand new 1500VA APC UPS though. I did some more troubleshooting and just when I thought I had a chance, I flipped the power switch on the power supply and the UPS went haywire. It seems like the computer may have shorted out. Now my UPS...

The GF4 only has VGA, no DVI. The 24 pin and 4 pin plugs are both securely attached.

6800GT or X800XL?

Who cares about HL2 and DoomIII these days? Let's look to the future. BF2, F.E.A.R other new releases are a lot more relevant than HL2 and Doom. Can we just leave 2004 behind and focus on "now"?

Your video card can't drive new games at 1920x1200. Keep that in mind.

BF2-only upgrade

Your 9800 pro is basically the same as the 6600GT (8 pipes, 256bit, 128mb, same clock). Performance won't be much better on the 66. The lowest you want to upgrade to is the X800XL/6800GT.

It would be nice to have it as an option for future GPUs. After all, they did leave an "extreme" sound setting from the Creative X-Fi.

Thanks for clearing that up. Why didn't they use that displacement mapping (?) pixel shader where everything gets distorted around a huge explosion or blurry behing hot air?

When I stare at the sun, things infront get darker. Is this HDR or just regular dynamic lighting?
