    How to enable power save with Atlon?

    Hi, How does one enable ACPI power saving with Athlon CPUs? They seem to be ignoring HLT commands. Need to reduce my power bill. Please help. I seem to recall there being a change to bios you could do so set some registers values on the CPU to tell it to go to sleep when HLT commands are sent.

    Brother HL-1440 laser printer $209.99 at Staples.com (thru 8/17/02)

    One thing you guys might want to know is that even though Brother advertises teh 1440 as having an ECP port, it appears that it does not. Save your money and buy plain parallel cables. Or use USB for much faster printing times and lower CPU usage.

    Washing Keyboard?!?!

    Dude, don't wash the whole thing. You need to take the KB apart and only was the plastic parts. I have heard of people washing the whole keyboard, but I would not chance it. Fobot: could the keyboard have died from the bubbles your daughter dumped on it while it was plugged in?

    Brother laser 1440 Q

    What is wrong with the parallel port on this printer? Brother claims it is ECP, but I can't get ECP mode to function fully. I was using it in fast SPP mode and then noticed that while it is spooling a large file my CPU usage is 100 percent, so decided to switch to ECP since that uses DMA and...
