Official BIOS version 2.00 and above will bring support for the 7300 CPU. I suggest going for the latest 2.10 official one, or the unofficial 2.12b for all the extra little options.

Hiya guys. I will finally be upgrading my motherboard hopefully within a few weeks to make better use of my Q6600 (+ more RAM, better graphics card etc) and will be turning my faithful SATA2 into a second PC as a backup/HTPC/mid-gaming rig. Because I will probably get a E5200 or E5300 CPU...

Running a Q6600 at stock speeds myself and it has been running fine just at that. You will have to set the FSB to Manual and change it to the 266 setting since this board automatically underclocks Quad Core CPUs by 5%. Now this will be the strange part depending on your own luck since people...

What the hell? Did you manage to get that from upping the FSB in the BIOS? Cause if so, you must be one of the few lucky ones since the Quad Core CPUs are extremely hard to overclock on this motherboard. And I can assume that will also be the reason why you may be getting the CRC errors i.e...

The Q6700 is 2.66GHz default speeds. You'd probably lose about 100-200MHz from the 5% underclock since I have the Q6600 (2.4GHz), but you can easily set the FSB to manual 266 and it will give the proper stock speeds. Be wary though as many people's 4CoreDual-SATA2 motherboards tend to be...

Yeah its basically like saying "Whilst Core 2 Quad CPUs are capable on this motherboard, just don't expect it to run perfectly" :P. But yeah, just blame the limited VIA chipset, and yet, its also why this is a good cheap motherboard in other aspects :).

Unfortunately not. Still only the 268FSB barrier. No changes on the other settings in the BIOS was able to make any difference. I left everything on Auto/Default settings just to be on the safe side when I repaired my installation.

Yeah I think that is the better description. Heck more like an "alarm" lol. I also thought that maybe the CPU fried or it was something to do with the PSU. Feared for the worse but yeah, couldn't believe it was just the power to the graphics card. The damn thing definitely is a wakeup call...

Yeah I managed to have figured it out now, it was a one duff molex connector to the graphics card, after switching around each molex connected to used devices just to check. And yes it was a steady beep. Scared the crap out of me though, but at least I now know what this one means...
