What 120mm fans should I get?

I try to avoid sleeve bearing fans at all costs; they have the most annoying sound once they start to fail (which can be less than a year in my experience). Fluid bearings (Scythes, Panaflo, etc) or quality ball bearings (San Ace) is the way to go.

Yet another 24" monitor thread - best under $700?

The reason to pick the Planar is if you want the lowest input lag IPS monitor available. If input lag isn't important, get one of the cheaper models listed above, as they will probably have equivalent image quality.

Diablo 3 placebo needed

NETHACK is your game. 100% random maps, every game, so infinite replayability. No level cap that I know of, although you can 'win' (ascend), but few accomplish that. I came close once, in 100s of hours of play time. It's perma-death with no save games (not without modding). You can save, but...

P3 Kill A Watt, $20, FS.

Just a warning, it's almost impossible to read the display on this thing unless it's directly lit. If your outlet is behind your desk or something, you need a flashlight just to read the numbers. It's not backlit or anything.

Yet another 24" monitor thread - best under $700?

OP didn't mention watching Blu-ray or other 16:9 content on his PC. I, like many people, watch movies on my TV. If your PC monitor doubles as your home theatre, then indeed, the Planar is not for you.

Might as well throw the Planar PX2611W in the mix. I paid about $600 for mine after cashback on Ebay, but there might be refurbs available under $500. It's a 25.5" screen though, so you do get some extra real estate over a 24". As you probably saw in the LCD thread, it's a quality IPS panel...

Low-power gaming card that can be softmodded into a workstation card?

Actually, it looks like the 4670 may be softmodded into the FirePro V5700 (a $600 card). I can't seem to find anyone that has actually gotten it to work though (and gotten SolidWorks RealView to enable).

The E.K. block. I used the RivaTuner plugin Voltage Factory to bump up the voltage.

Overclocking the 4890?

I'm at 1025 core, 1085 memory. I had to bump the core voltage up to 1.5V to get there. The core and memory stay cool, but the VRMs get up past 100C in Furmark. I'm on water though, so YMMV.
