Windows 7: not very good so far

Sure they are. Just shift-click or middle click (with a three-button mouse) and a new app window opens. It's the best of both worlds. PhreePhly

Actually, No. Orb, right click Computer and choose properties. Really simple. Have you used the search features? Click the Orb and start typing what you are looking for. Example, power settings, click the orb and type pow.. with just those three letters a quicklist for options in control...

Things that still suck about Windows 7

Tell your Dad to click the Start Button and type "Add Program" and there should be an entry for add and remove programs. Win 7 does this better, as it actually adds a section for control panel in the search. PhreePhly

Win 7 RC with 2GB System RAM

I'm not sure I agree. If you only have 2 GB of RAM and don't plan on increasing that or can't due to hardware constraints, x86 is more efficient. PhreePhly

WHS question

WHS backup is typically scheduled to occur during a time range. Mine is set for 1200 to 0400, however you can set any time period you want. I guess you could set it to have a schedule over a 24 hour period. PhreePhly

I have the same setup at home, I have 3 laptops and a desktop. The backup is scheduled for between 1200 and 0400. The client is set to wake any laptops. My laptop is set for hybrid sleep, and even if I am in the hibernate mode, it wakes up and backs up. The laptops are all setup wireless so...
