A Real Video Player

I'd build a computer with massive amounts of harddrive space, rip all my DVDs to DivX/Xvid copies making them around 700-900MB for each movie. Then I'd buy a used Xbox and perform a softmod on it and install Xbox Media Center. Run XXGUI (server interface) on the PC, and network the PC to Xbox...

Upgrading my mobo (AKA did I just kill my CPU?)

Just a idea since this was my problem with my last build, you did plug in the extra power hookup for the CPU right?

WOOOT!!!

dc=dualcore, most games at the moment don't support dualcore so you won't see much of a difference either way though this may change in the future. with a 7800gt and 2 gigs you shouldn't have any problems running any games out right now maxed out regardless of what cpu you get.

WOOOT!!!

Usually higher rated cpus will give lower OC's do to yield results, will it probley. But really man instead of paying 300$ for it i'd either wait for a dualcore or just get the cheaper 3000+, but thats just my opinion man. Also man you may want to look into a OEM which would be a new CPU just...

yea that too. but _if_ where me and i _was_ gonna get a 3500 venice then i'd go for a 3000+ instead and OC it.

oh 3500+ for 299? yea man i'd really check into the 3000+ since its A LOT cheaper and should reach 3500+ speeds no problem. then when you wan't to upgrade to a dualcore it won't seem as bad as if you payed 300$ for the venice.

I must agree, since your going with a venice 3800+ anyways just get a 3000+ which will most likely OC to 3800+ speeds with decent ram. Ive got a nonname brand (gigaram) and am rock solid at 2.30ghz, I can push to over 2.5 easily if I had some better ram or could figue out why my board won't post...

If one must use a phone modem ISP, how does AOL rate?

my reasoning exactly on why i'd never use AOL for dailup, go with a local company and use the dailup connecter thingie(uh?) in windows

Sleeving a PSU

I just used car stereo sleeving for my wires, you know the semi-hard plastic toobing with a slit all the way down it. then use some black tape to tape up each side
