7900GT worse than the 7800gt?

QFT. The 7900GT is better than the 7800GT, there's no debate. Does it really matter why some of the numbers are scrambled - I doubt you're going to get a definitive answer as t the exact cause of it anyway. Simple fact is that the 7900GT is better, as the vast majority of benchmarks prove.

Man! Those 7900GTXs went quickly.

I don't think there were *that* many - I remember when I woke up, one of the Leadtek ones had sold out at Newegg already. And I woke up very early, plus I'm on the east coast!

T'was 6 from 8 earlier. Their inventory has been showing some cards out of stock and then replenishing them later on, very odd. Still, no denying that a very substantial chunk of 'em are gone!

2 questions about XFX 7900GTX XXX...?

Have you got a source for it being 1.1ns memory? I ordered two of these cards and have been searching everywhere to find out the memory used. I know that both eVGA cards use 1.2ns memory...

So i get a call from a LA Lawyer today . . . Would i like to sue ATi?

I'm surprised at the way they've gone about it - mass spamming is the sort of method a 15yr old might adopt when he needs to find out something for his homework online. But its a little less befitting of a firm of lawyers.

Crusader - Don't you have anything better to do, other than doing an overpaid lawyer's job for him, under the misconceived notion that you're helping out fellow consumers rather than just lining his pockets further?

Its already happening.

It's odd, they've lowered it on some cards; their XFX range is priced (mostly) in line with other retailers. Looks like they only got round to readjusting some of the prices. I'm sure they'll notice after a while when their $800 cards are still sitting in the inventory...

Refreshing lack of price gouging going on! MSRP ($499) cards: PNY @ Newegg eVGA @ ZZF Leadtek @ ZZF MSI @ ZZF PNY @ TigerDirect PNY @ Monarch (less than MSRP!). Of course, there are a few stupid prices: MSI @ mwave is $799 (and its stock speeds). lol. eVGA's cards are both over...

Topweasel - the Leadtek one for $529 is at Newegg. I've actually made a spreadsheet comparing the prices at various stores for the 5 XFX cards, the eVGAs, BFG, Leadtek and PNY (yes, I was bored). If anyone is thinking of getting the card and can't be arsed to compare prices, let me know and...

Agree about the XT refences; while it would be nice to have a sensible discussion over the pricing of cards, it'll inevitably just descend into ATI/nVidia bashing, so can just focus on the best GTX prices... I saw the PNY deal and was very tempted - getting below MSRP on launch day is pretty...

7900 3dmark scores

Even so, they lag *far* behind many published scores for the X1900XTX and also, IIRC, the GTX 512 (run at 12x10).

Xbox 360: Ghost Recon Advance Warfare

Yes, but they don't involve shooting and secondly, the game isn't constant battle after battle. RPG v FPS, completely different genres. Otherwise, you might as well argue that any FPS where you can upgrade your gun, bolster your armor, etc., is basically a RPG...

Xbox 360: Ghost Recon Advance Warfare

FFS, 1) Its ObliviOn and 2) how the hell is it a first person shooter? And as for both games, the screenshots I've seen of the PC versions look lousy compared to the 360 versions. I'd like to get the PC version of GRAW as I'd rather use a mouse than a joypad but unless they get it looking up...
