power switch doesn't work? or is MB bad?

i've tried shorting the pins with a screwdriver, and a key, and nothing happens. looks like the board, eh? guess i'll be RMAing that sucker.

PSU switch is on, and I've tried reversing the power button cable. No luck so far. Perhaps I could hook up the power switch from my old computer, to see if that's the issue. It's becoming quite frustrating.

I have the cable installed on the proper pins, I believe. I checked in the manual, and all seems to be okay in that department. I can feel the power button click. Nothing happens when I press the button, the PS just doesn't come on. When I plug in the PS to the outlet, the fans spin a bit...

hello- i am building a new computer, with an asus k8v deluxe motherboard. i've got motherboard power hooked up, cpu installed, cpu fan installed, and one stick of 512MB ram. when i press the power button, nothing happens. however, the MB seems to be getting power because it's standy power light...

the age-old question - what case?

i am thinking about building a new machine, with an athlon64 3000+ and an asus k8v MB. I'm trying to find a good case, any ideas? I've mainly been looking at Coolermaster (wavemaster and praetorian) and Lian-Li. but Lian-Li has so many cases, I don't know where to start! help!

Which monitor to buy?

Hey guys... I just built a new gaming system and I'm looking for monitor recommendations. My only requirements are: 21", flat screen CRT, max resolution at least 1600x1200 Price range is around $500-600. Any ideas?

dual AMD motherboard?

Thanks for all the help guys. I might end up going with a single proc board, just so I won't have to buy two processors. Plus, it's kind of pointless, usually. I don't do a whole lot of multitasking. So if you have any good single-proc Athlon suggestions, throw em out there! :)
