I have the same combination.
My E8400 is overclocked to 3.6GHz and my temps in coretemp are between 36°C and 42°C most of the time with the CPU fan spinning between 740 and 820 rpm.
Just updated to bios F3b and guess what.... no "loadline calibration" and no "smart fan control method".
And still no reply from Gigabyte tech support.
That's what the guy from Gigabyte tech support also told me.
However, this being a beta bios I asked him whether it has the same functionality as the previous versions, because on their site they clearly state "BETA describes a new version that is reliable yet may not include all the features...
I have the EP35-DS3 motherboard with the F2 BIOS and I installed an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro on my E8400.
In the BIOS I enabled CPU smart fan control, my processor is running at 3.6GHz and my CPU fan is spinning idle at around 750rpm and stressed in e.g. Orthos around 1000rpm.
That is because you leave your vCore at "auto" in the bios.
When I put my FSB at 400 and leave vCore at "auto", it automatically raises the vCore to 1.3 in the bios (1.28 idle and 1.26 under load in Everest).
So your machine is not running at 3.6GHz at standard 1.225 vCore.
