Ketchup, Thanks for the suggestion. Turns out that it the computer doesn't like my keyboard and mouse plugged into the USB hub I have. Odd thing is that the keyboard and mouse were plugged into the same hub when I was using it on my laptop to post the original post. So there was some conflict...

Reading NTFS partitions from another computer

Problem with Gigabyte GA-7DXR

Pioneer VSX-D509S $199 @ Best Buy or Fry's electronic...CLEARANCE

Don't go with the Sony. Qualities not too good. Pioneer is ok. Check out some of the Onkyo's for a good receiver, though you will pay a little more.

In general with home theater equipment, you get what you pay for. Aiwa makes bad receivers, period. But hey, it's cheap. You want a real receiver? Go with an Onkyo or Denon. just my two cents

Zucchini- It depends on your school. At my school they sell at least 1500 laptops every year, so we get a great price. I'd check your campus computer store and if they don't stock IBM, give IBM sales a call and tell them you are a student and see what they say.
