What are you playing this weekend? (7/17)

I am being deployed to Afghanistan for a year, and have no idea when I will be able to play anything again. I am going to get some Texas Hold'em in on the 360, and check out Call of Juarez (in the drive as I type this). I'll play a bit of Burnout Paradise's Big Surf Island, and some Bankshot...

Can you selectively transfer XBOX Live licenses?

Yes, that is the deal: all or nothing. After you have used the xfer tool to do it's thing, all you are doing is downloaded the license itself to your unit. No part of the actual license assignment process takes place during the download.

Are there 175 watt Jasper units with the 256mb internal memory?

I understand that the first run of Jaspers were 175watt units. Besides power, how to tell? All Jaspers have internal memory, 256 and now 512, right?

Unfortunately my unit is the 175watter. However, a Falcon unit doesn't have enough internal memory to support the NXE dashboard... this one has it. If I pop the HD off of the unit, I still have the new dash. Must be Jasper, right?

Burnout Paradise Big Surf Island DLC up

About what to get... I would snag that Arcade Jasper unit from Dell and then upgrade it to the new dash BEFORE attaching an aftermarket 20gig purchased from eBay or Craigslist for $30 or so. Do that; you will be in good shape. Of course, you can easily justify a larger HD, but they are...

Actually the modded Liteon has never been locked out of Live, to date, as far as I know. I play mine online all the time. I wouldn't have gone the mod route myself, but I have actually paid multiple times for some arcade titles... and some still don't work! Thanks to Microsoft's DRM glitches...

My Arcade unit has a manufacture date of 9/29/08. It says [12V-14,2A ;5V-1A] on the back... so I suppose that means it is a 175 watt unit? Since it is an Arcade model with 256mb of internal memory, does that mean I have a Jasper that is 175w? Did the Falcon motherboard ever have 256mb...

Yeah, I bought a new Jasper unit from Walmart the other day and had the same experience as you... 80mb to play with after the upgrade. This, however, is another Jasper unit (one that is a bit older), and it had like 200mb on the internal memory with the old dash and I was able to play with it...

I am afraid you may be correct, Jules, and that is the offical word from M$ on this glitch. Of course, I would never bother with getting another unit for this problem alone. It would be nice if there is a fix at some point, and who knows... there may be one in the future. Hell, some random...
