What's with the weird game console commercials lately?

Yup, I saw the PS3 one with the baby doll the other day with my wife and we basically looked at each other with a WTF? look afterwards. However, with everything that I've heard and seen about Sony in the past few months, this type of crap doesn't really surprise me. :confused:

So I was watching Aliens earlier, and I started thinking about the scene where they prepare to fly to the space colony, the marines' armor, weapons, airship, etc. sorta reminded me of stuff in the Halo videogames. Does anyone know if Halo actually copied concepts or ideas from the movie, and...

Buying Chopsticks

I agree with others... try your local Asian supermarket or something like Chinatown. In Seattle's International District, you can get decent ones in a pack of 10-pairs for less than $2, while custom made ones with images/initials could set you back about $10. ;)

That TASER X26C is pretty friggin' awesome; although at about $1,000, I'd really have to think about how serious I am about buying her one of those. Not that I'd put a price on her safety, but if there's other alternatives that are equivalent in terms of safety, I might try those out first...

doze: I've heard that argument before, but it's sounds like a "catch 22". Do you or don't you, but I'm kinda leaning towards at least giving her something to have in case she were ever to need it. Even pepper spray might be worth having, IMO.

Now, I've only seen tasers on tv. Has anyone ever used one? They seem to do a pretty good job in movies/shows, but I'm wondering how practical they are in real life. BTW, thanks for the link adairusmc.

WTF is this?! Headphones while driving?

A few years back a study was done on the effects of listening to loud music while driving a car, and they found that people who did so often had a heightened awareness while driving. I'll have to look for those results... ;)
