Do you really think a big corporation like Nvidia would not notice this prior to launch?
To me, it looks more like Nvidia decided that saying 3.5 GB + .5 was rather risky and therefore chose 4GB as the norm was.
I had this same thought back when I build my rig in April.
Bought a FX 8320, but reading haswell previews really made me sad about performance. I was able to sell my fx and get a i5 4670k. THEN, I started to look in to the i7. The price difference at microcenter meant I would have to give up...
I am mostly surprised that DICE is giving it a shot. I am pretty sure they wouldnt have made a big deal if the improvements were minimal. As far as AMD goes, I am pretty excited for their new cards.
I just got back from MC and picked up that same mobo and a 4670k. I cant believe the price on this board. I feel like I just got away with murder knowing that this same board is $180 on newegg. I was this combo or a AMD 8350+990FX gigabyte.
Havent overclocked yet.
I think I just figured it out. On the card itself, there are 16 little chips where the card sits on the board. 2 are gone. I am assuming this each is one lane.
returning it tomorrow.
I just checked again and it was 556. I am not sure how I came up with 800s...
Question, my mobo (asus m597 r2) supports pcie x16, but GPUZ reports it is currently at x8 1.1 and 2 when doing the render test. Is this correct?
1) bought a computer for myself so this will make a good project for my mom
2) so I can crossfire it with my existing 7770
3)build for the mom
4) can hybrid with hdd
