Make sure you unplug your internet when you reboot. I found (atleast for XP anyway) that when you go back into Windows it detects and installs its own drivers before I got a change to run the setup again.
My laptop spec is a Toshiba Tecra 8000 (266mhz) with 256megs ram. My home machine is a 1.2Tbird clocked at 1.31 (FSB is at 145) with 512megs ram running WinXP. I'm using the CLI client not the Screensaver one. Doh, forgot to run it this morning before leaving. :(
Huh? It may use your phone line but it won't interfere with your DialTone (meaning you can still use your phone and have this use your wires). Thats the new Home Networking standard. Kind of like how DSL works. It uses a different frequency. Anyway, you can also have it use CAT5 cabling should...
Been looking at this. Its exactly what my uncle wants for his entertainment system. And quite actually, it wouldn't look so bad in my setup either.
I've read a few reviews but would like to hear form the community. Does anyone have one, know of someone who does? If so what are your/their...
Yah Its a toss up. Had I purchased the modem then I would be stuck in buying another one. Plus they are coming out with the new DOCSIS cert. next year. AT&T Comcast are planning on offering Tier services where you can actually purchase cable modem service at different rates like you do with DSL.
I'll get this started on my 1.2Tbird clocking at 1.31.
Now why can't someone also write a Seti client to work off the GPU of my GeForce 3 Ti200 card? Wouldn't that crank out some WU's??????
I have AT&T BB (formely MediaOne). Was renting the Toshiba 1100 modem. Then it started acting up. Eventually all the lights on the modem stayed on. So AT&T sent a tech out on Sunday (YES Sunday morning). Swapped out the modem and he was on his way.
Thats one of the perks of renting than...
I have to agree with Dclone. Lost & Found is an awesome app. Even if you FDisk'd your HD you can still get to your lost files. I think it reads the sectors on your HD so regardless what it was partitioned with you can still get access to it. I found it on a site but won't post it. Search around...
I'm getting a 1650 Photo for Xmas (wifey wrapped it up already). I know Epson has new Twain drivers for XP for this model I'm not sure about the other models though. Might want to take a look at Epsons Driver page.
