I had XP on one partition that I split to make room for Windows 7. Rebooted, picked to boot from DVD (via ESC boot menu, not bios setting) and Windows 7 started to install fine. On first reboot though XP loaded up with no options to choose the OS.
I tried to boot from DVD again but it just...
I just finished setting this up myself.
You'll only need to forward TCP port 3389 to the computer you're trying to connect to.
Also make sure you have the Terminal Services service started and have enabled Remote Desktop on the XP box.
Or if you prefer you can change the port by editing the...
Those numbers are nothing outrageous. 1758Kbps = about 220KBps. Tests are always measuring in kiloBITS per second whereas when you download you usually see kiloBYTES per second. :)
As far as I understand it XP comes in 2 flavors, Pro and Home each with a slightly different different feature set. I believe the Corporate edition is the Pro edition but with a volume license which doesn't require activation.
You can check if you have the WinXP firewall enabled by going to Start-->Control Panel-->Network Something (don't remember exact name). Right click your LAN connection and go to properties then see whats checked on the last tab.

What happens if you just type the address in your...
Has your DSL modem changed at all? Had it replaced maybe? Some modems only allow x number of mac addresses which prevents you from networking your connection with more than x number of computers.
Try turning off/unplugging the modem, disconnect 1 working computer. Boot the modem, then reboot...
I've tried the keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+c/x/v), Edit menu, and context menus. They all do the same thing. Copy seems to work fine, cut doesn't do anything, and the paste option is greyed out after a copy/cut.
Yeah I haven't had a chance to look at the clipboard when it happens but I will next time. My RAM should be fine as its always text I'm copying and am not usually running any large programs. text editor, couple of IE windows etc... I'll check my RAM usage next time though, thanx.
