Its been a long time since I posted, to the point I had to make a new account! Anyhow I've got a problem where I recently updated my drivers on my old MSI 4830OC 512mb graphics card.
I wasn't having any problems before the upgrade (except one of the drivers seemed to have been corrupted, so I'd...
With Windows 7 RC being released tomorrow, I was curious where I would find motherboard drivers for this motherboard/chipset?
Biostar TA790GX 128m (AMD's website only has it for vista, but will that suffice for Windows 7? I just want to double check)
I don't use IGP (got a 4830 installed)...
BIOSTAR TA790GX 128M
X3 720BE -> Set to Auto CC -> Post -> Ran Prime95 for about 4 hours and Played Left 4 Dead about 1 hr
CPU Temp was around 42 C when running Prime.
So far so good.
My fan on my stock cooling seems to be making a clipping noise as if its hitting the heatsink? Any...
So I just got my new rig setup and after about 4 days I heard my fan from my cpu making a weird sound. Sort of like its hitting the heatsink?! Everything else works fine, but does anyone know if (newegg/amd) will send a new fan or if there's a quick easy fix for this?
Thanks!
Thanks to anyone who can help me out. I want to tether my laptop to my desktop so that my desktop could use the wifi of my laptop in order to gain access to my wifi internet (the router is upstairs).
Any ideas on how to set this up?
Thanks!
Updated: Looks like the consensus is the 4870 512mb version and that a 740g motherboard is just fine. Now I pretty much have two other questions
1.) Does a power supply need to be 80+ Cert or is the one I found ok? It states 83% efficiency on load, but no certification?
2.) Will the Antec...
The difference between a 4830 1gb and 4870 is roughly $40 for me. Anyone know what the difference would be at higher resolutions (I would be playing at 1920x1080) with the 1gb? I'm curious if the extra 512mb would reduce the gap between the two. The reason I'm concerned with moving up to a 4870...
Newegg's current deal gives me only a combo with the Asus 4870 512mb + AMD X3 720 for $275-30 rebate. Which is the only way I could afford it. The cheapest 1gb is the Gigbaytes http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814125256 for $170 after rebate. The X3 720 becomes $145, totaling 315 :(...
I would like this setup to last for a long time 3-4 years. My gaming tendencies have gone down, but I do play games like Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. I recently got an ASUS 23.6" 1080p LCD which unfortunately doesn't seem to display any 16:10 resolution besides 1920x1080 and the normal 4:3...
I was looking at some benchmarks and for example it seems the xbox360 has the edge over some of the $200 dollar range video cards. My primary comparison is Oblivion which runs well on the x360 and high 20's on PC Video Cards. It seems graphically speaking the xbox360 will have a longer longevity...
My current PC specs
Athlon64 3200 (s754)
1gig of ram
Radeon9800pro (Possible upgrade to x1950 pro?)
I'm willing to spend around 250 dollars on an upgrade for one or the other. For the Xbox360 I will play on my 19 Widescreen LCD (Have no HDTV). Between those two options which would people...
I realized now that the fan i put on my parents computer is extremely loud (30db) and whiny...whats the best heatsink and fan i could get to reduce this beasts volume?
