Team Anandtech T-shirts

It really sucks because the AnandTech folks are preventing us from having our own shirts with an AT logo representing ATDC, and I'm 99% sure that if they ever do offer merch online, a DC-themed shirt won't be in the list of items. I'd love to be shocked, of course.

backups - Ghost 12 vs Acronis True Image 10

Acronis True Image 10 supports Vista x64, while the last time I checked, the version of Ghost at that time didn't. True Image worked ok for me, but I only cloned one partition from an IDE drive to a SATA drive on an NForce4 chipset.

Having a problem running the F@H SMP client as a service ?

That's unfortunate that the SMP client can't be run as a service. I forget to restart it often on my own system. :o

Quit bitching at people who's preferences aren't the same as yours. I like it the way it is now, but I'm not going to whine that there exist people who don't have the same views. Yes, they need to add options to the forum software. No, the current option should stay for people who want updates...

Minimum video card for AeroGlass

It depends on what resolution you plan to use, as well as the number of monitors that you connect. I've found that a Geforce 6600-series with 128MB of RAM, which should fall above the minimum requirements, gets sluggish under load with a single 1600x1200 monitor and four or five applications...

your opinions needed

Good Photoshop work! On the shot, though, my preference would be to see it shot from a lower angle, so the primary group of cattails clears the shoreline. For the direction that you seem to be going, however, I'd go with cropping a small bit from the right and keeping all of the cattails.

Vista and ACPI multiprocessor ?

On my dual core system, the equivalent phrase is "ACPI x64-based PC." I don't have any single core systems with which to compare, but I'll still assume that you're right about the unified SMP and UP HAL.

For original archival needs, I'd never switch from RAW to anything else, especially a format backed by Microsoft. However, if it were to become popular, I'd use it where appropriate for output. I don't think that will happen, because JPEG is "good enough" that there's no great incentive or...

I appreciate being able to follow many threads without having to sort through tons of notification PMs (and certainly overlook some). It's much better this way. With that said, [to the developers] please put in an option so people like Googer can be happy too.

If you take pics in raw, what format is your "final" version in?

Since I use Adobe Camera RAW and/or Lightroom, all of my development settings are stored in XMP files, and the automatically built JPEG previews in LR and Bridge reflect these settings. Only a few of my photos actually get taken into Photoshop, after which they may be stored as PSD, along with...

The subscriptions have changed in behavior... I seem to be getting only one subscription per visit to the forums (as it was pre-upgrade), though I may also be losing some subscription updates. With that said, I prefer this way, so long as none of the updates are lost. :)
