Uhm, Browder didn't try and copy RDA in the least. If anything he was channeling a little too much John Crichton from Farscape, which would be what he did previous to SG-1. Honestly I liked Browder better than RDA. RDA did a great job in the first 6 seasons, but he went down hill after that.
