Monitor won't display 1600x1200 Help!

If you right click on the desktop, select Properties, then Settings tab, Advanced Button, Displays tab. Click on the Monitor box and you have the DDC Information checkbox. If you uncheck this, you can select whatever max resolution and refresh rate you want, but be careful b/c if you turn it...

fatal error: registry keys are missing?

Is there any chance you ran Norton System Doctor and did a Fix All Problems? I did this before and it erased some windows files that it thought was not being used and I had the same problem. I never run the Norton stuff other than Antivirus now

The reason I overrode it was b/c I'm pretty certain that the monitor was advertised as max res. of 1600x1200, and it worked at taht resolution so....Does it sound like that could be my problem? Edit: Here's the link of where I got it from Staples As you can see the description says 1600x1200...

Well, that usually causes it, but it also happens while I'm in windows. One thing, the DSC information on my monitor is max res of 1280x1024, but I override it and set it to 1600x1200 w/ 60 refresh rate. Do you think the problem is my monitor?
