0404 USB > Logitech Z 5500 ... No Sound

I have connected my 0404 USB to logitech Z 5500 using optical. There is no sound no matter what i do, music , movies etc. When connected to motherboard optical out, sound is there. Where am I going wrong, any settings on the 0404 that i need to change ? I have tried all possible settings on...

yes i am connected to the internet. the thing is its not giving me any problems during the day but evening time the amount of data entering doubles and then my connection becomes slow. how do i configure the firewall to drop the packets ... i am using kerio. i will contact the isp to see...
