SBC Yahoo DSL connection problem

I tried all the spyware programs mentioned above, but the connection still cant access AIM/Mirc/Games. I have no idea what's wrong! I can't even update my spyware... it says connection is not found even though I can access the site with Internet Explorer. TIA!

But I can use Mirc and Internet explorer. Is it a connection problem? I can download off of IE as well. I just can't connect to AIM or Firefox. Please help!

Thanks for the input guys. I'll d/l all the suggestions and try em out. The thing I'm worried about the most is the firewall. I want a firewall that's free and impenetrable (sp?) I need to know how to set it up so it keeps my connection secure. So can someone please give me some pointers or...

Can someone name the best of for the following: firewall spyware virus scanner IP blockers (PeerGuardian, Protowall) and anything else I may need to have a safer network and the configurations needed to maximize the security. Thanks!

SBC DSL activation

Anyone ever try this? I'm at school right now and I'm still comtemplating. I don't know whether the charge will be high or not... also I'm apprehensive because some people on FW said that the SBC tech told them "DO NOT USE THE CONNECTION BEFORE THE DATE" Caps intimidate me! :confused:
