I guess i really have no choice, but to go back to the Sonata, because my place gets up to 33C during the day, and the PC is on 24/7, although i do have the HDs set to turn off on idle, and using RMClock to lower CPU to save power, and lower temps.
I have a A8N-SLI DLX, 3500+ Newcastle & 6600GT, 7x hard drives
I was using an Antec Sonata Quiet Case (original one)
120mm fan behind the HD bays pulling air off them into the case over my chipset hsf
My CPU temps were 39C idle and maybe 50-55C on load (Stock Cooling)
So i realized i...
Yikes! Well i guess you could start by clearing cmos completely, set the jumper and remove the battery for a few mins, something like that.
Then i would flash with the current or latest bios, just in case. Also might want to check to see if all power cables are plugged in, ez-plug etc.. or...
Here is a few pics i took of the new fan and replacement of the old one.
I did it in these steps.. removed old fan (did it earlier)
Removed old heatsink, i pushed the tabs thru the back so that i could snip off the "hooks"
Removed Plastic Covering on rest of chip?? (didn't know wtf that was...
They seem a bit low i guess but i really don't know much about voltages..
Do you have cool and quiet running? Also i think ntune sets some power saving profile, might want to check ntune's profiles out.
Mine are
V core - 1.504V
3.3Volt - 3.296V
5Volt - 4.972V
12Volt - 11.968V
CPU...
I tried to ask ASUS last night, the guy freaked out and said that i should not run the computer at all, and i told him i just want to know what temp i should watch out for... but he said he couldn't say or didn't know... :/
I called last night cause my fan is basically toast. They told me...
Fan is different from the original one.
It needs to be mounted at a 45 Degree angle to fit the MB (so i assume it includes a heatsink).
Shipping USPS, so 1-2 weeks shipping time...
I wanted to use my pc in the mean...
Whoa 15a on the +12v rail.. thats not good at all.. Asus themselves say 17a on min load and 25a on full load... Get some more amps on the +12v if i were you..
My chipset fan lately is getting louder... at first i didn't even hear it, but now its quite loud, you can hear is speeding up and slowing down.... annoying :(
Using the same PSU (24pin version) as well, not probs at all with it.
By the looks of the earlier post, it was the bios update that fixed your post probs and other things....
Cause soon as i went to 1003 final never had a post prob again.
Pasted from the previous page...
I had a few stability issues so i didn't do much with ntune other then a few tries... gonna try later when im sure my system is stable completely...
