Yes the abit p35 is a good mobo. Also look for the 4 mb cache cpu (6420) instead of the 6400. They perform better with at the same speed as the 2 mb cache parts. Saw a 6420 going for $130 shipped in he forums :)
mmmm I would not call it a terrible oc at all. It just needs better parts. Mine is running happily at 3.02 gigs with 1.32volts (1.35 is the standard) It does beat faster clocked e6300 or 6400s) because the 4 mb cache. I paired it with an Asus p5b. I have crappy pc 4200 ram and it is running...
I know :) Coretemp gives me a more accurate picture I believe. I get 36 and 39c idle and
51 and 52c with orthos. Still the tat stress function gets the E6550 hotter than orthos :) Waiting for better ram and I will slap my watercooling too :) Gaming does not even come close to the temps...
Using intel tat I get around 25c on each core. After using orthos for a while I go to 32 and 34c. I am running at 3.08 gigs and for cooling I am using a Scythe Ninga cooler with 120mm fan that spins at 1500 rpms. These 6550 are great chips. Runing with a 1.35 volts. The thing holding me...
MrDudeMan, like bon4432 said it is not hard at at all. I have 2 36 gig mau ones and they fly. I have one for the os and one for games only and then I have a sata 2 250 gig for the pron, I mean the important data :). With todays games taking so much gigs (ut 2k4 is over 11 gigs so far), lost...
I know I was browsing late Sunday night and I saw them and I got them. There are several other nice deals there :) Probably I am going to get another pair or two :)
I ordered on Sunday night some Skechers Collection Men's Cities-Chicago Boot for $19.97 and I am wearing them right now. Extremely fast shipping and great shoes for $20 :)
