Help! Major problem with my new p4b533

Install Asus PC Probe from http://download.asus.com.tw/mb_dl_menu.asp?l1=1&l2=15&l3=8&mid=3 if you can. Tell us the numbers it gives you for CPU temp, MB temp, CPU fan, +5V, +3.3V, Vcore. Knowing those numbers would rule out your power supply and cooling as causes of the crashing.

Yet Another 1.6A Overclock

I've been using Asus PCProbe the whole time :) At BIOS setting 1.65V, It's overvolting .062V while idle, but under load is undervolting .002V. Because it's at 1.712V idle, I'm reluctant to go higher than 1.65V. Everything says keep it under 1.75V and some people even say keep it at or under...

Yet Another 1.6A Overclock

Unfortunately, it didn't pass Prime95 for very long at 160FSB on default. Everything else worked fine, but I figure there's no reason to leave it failing when I still have .2 Vcore to give. So I'm testing it at 1.6V and then I'll move up a few more MHz on the FSB.

Naive question: Would switching the side fan to exhaust fix the problem? I've got an Antec Performance Plus case and kinda wanna take advantage of that sweet-looking side exhaust :) But my P4 just came today (5/20/02 pack date, same as THUGSROOK's :D guess I have big hopes for it)

Couple of questions on the 1.6A. Been out of the loop for awhile

I might get the Asus P4B533 with the i845E chipset... THUGSROOK is testing it out and it seems like a winner so far. (I'm considering buying it soon myself.) - Rob
