Happy ending. Removing, then reinstalling the video drivers didn't fix it. Updating DirectX didn't work (had the latest 9.0c), and it wouldn't update. Found that Nvidia had released another driver (81.94 to 81.95). Installed that and Presto! Thanks for all the help. It's good to be...

Update: I restarted in Safe Mode, and the videos played fine. Gonna remove, then reinstall my video card drivers (and perhaps DirectX). Hope that takes care of it. R2

Thanks RKS. Just tried it, but no go. Same thing (no play, 99% CPU usage). None of my media players will work. Even trying to watch video clips in Internet Explorer will lock the machine up. Dxdiag doesn't come back with any errors. My games run fine. JPEGs are fine. No other probs on...

Temp Internet files being deleted upon restart!

Hi all. Whenever I restart the computer (or put it in "Sleep" mode), the Temporary Internet Files folder gets emptied, and I lose all my cookies. I can open/close Internet Explorer all day, and the files are fine. I made sure that the "Empty Temporary Files Folder when browser is closed"...

How do I add Buttons to IE6 toolbar?

I'd like to add some custom made buttons to the Internet Explorer toolbar (in addition to the standard buttons like "home, favorites, print, etc."). Win XP Home, IE 6. Like perhaps one for "New Window." Any ideas? Thanks, R2

I'm replacing my current HDD. I want to reinstall WinXP Home (full OEM) fresh install. What do i need to do to "reactivate" my current registration once I've reloaded windows? I know you've probably answered this a thousand times, but a search didn't turn up anything for me. Thanks, R2
