HELP!!!!! Just finished putting together my very first system, power it up, and well, basically nothing happens :(

If your first system build powers up normally, it means you prolly did something wrong. :) You will get 'er figured out .. no worry.

Sighhhh, I've lost my 4th IBM 60GXP

I read that some of the drive problems were related to the controller. Someone did a statistical review and found drive failures common with certain (non-Intel) controllers. I'll try to dig up the link. I have five 45-gig IBM 75GXPs .. the ones everybody is complaining about .. not a single...
