how does a ps3 compare with a pc?

hate to dig up an old thread, but you are wrong. the RSX is based on G71. compared to a 7900 GT, it has faster core/mem speeds, only 128-bit but has access to the XDR memory which is used for cell (but not as efficiently as its own). RSX can also offload some things to Cell making it overall...

heh, fixed the problem. went over there thinking that she probably plugged her monitor into the VGA connection of the motherboard, rather than the one from the videocard.

Video card drivers won't install

apparently, some AGP videocards need to have the "AGP deep fifo" setting enabled in the BIOS for the drivers to install properly. i think the option is disabled, or set to AUTO by default and i built a system with this board and a 6600GT AGP before, and had no problems installing the drivers...

Dual core temperature readings

i use both Everest and Speedfan to monitor my CPU temperatures. i just got an X2 3800+, and speedfan reports 1 temperature for the CPU, but everest gives the temperatures for the CPU, CPU 1 Core 1, and CPU 1 Core 2. the CPU temperature in speedfan is the same as everest's "CPU" temperature...

yeah, the HTT portion seems to be similar to its 939 counterpart. its the memory that im confused about. you say the memory is independent from the HTT, meaning if you raise the HTT, the memory frequency stays the same? if so, i dont think so... i had my HTT at 240, and my memory frequency...
